Danielle Westbrook

What starts as a single idea—an underfunded nonprofit, a kitchen-table campaign, a grassroots business incubator—can ignite something far greater. In this session, Danielle Westbrook shares stories and strategies from the frontlines of community organizing, nonprofit development, and cultural movement-building in the Pacific Northwest. From economic equity and entrepreneurship to arts advocacy and political campaigns, this is a look at how hyper-local efforts can spark regional momentum when rooted in authenticity, relationship, and rhythm.

Participants will explore a model for scaling impact that doesn’t rely on hierarchy or burnout—but instead builds power through shared ownership, joyful engagement, and flexible structure. We’ll discuss coalition-building, narrative framing, and what it takes to go from “Let’s try this” to “Everyone’s talking about it.” The session will be dynamic, participatory, and (of course) a little funky—so come ready to reflect, connect, and maybe even dance a little. No slide deck required.

Learning Objectives

Understand how to turn small, community-rooted initiatives into scalable movements by identifying key leverage points, partnerships, and storytelling strategies that spark broader impact.

Learn tools for coalition-building and cross-sector collaboration that prioritize trust, joy, and shared leadership—without sacrificing momentum or mission. Leave with real-world inspiration and practical frameworks to energize their own work, whether launching a project, amplifying a campaign, or nurturing culture change inside an organization.
