OD Workshop - Feedback as a Liberating Practice
Lux Gypsum
The ability to give and receive feedback is an important part of all relationships, both at work and at home. The practice of giving and receiving feedback is also a necessary part of collective liberation because it supports us in calibrating to the world around us. When we understand how we impact each other, we can adjust to create more supportive relationships and more efficient work flows. If we don’t have the ability to give and receive feedback, we are more likely to dominate others with our perspectives or preferences and to simply accept behavior that is inappropriate or disruptive to others. In this workshop, we will begin by exploring why giving and receiving feedback is both important and challenging. Then we will focus on growing our skills in seeking feedback, giving feedback, and receiving feedback. There will be opportunities to practice both giving and receiving feedback. If there is a particular kind of feedback you would like to practice giving or receiving, please bring your real-life examples.
In this program, you will:
Build a grounded understanding of the connection between feedback and liberation, the skills to offer feedback in a supportive and respectful way, a deeper ability to receive feedback with grace and dignity.
