November Presentation - Naming and Managing Power Dynamics in Organization Development and Change
Dr. Kim Walker
This training will be conducted live via Zoom.
As OD practitioners are increasingly called upon to build more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable organizations, they must be prepared to name and discuss power dynamics. Power shapes relationships and potential for positive impact in every space. This workshop will introduce new ways of thinking about power not just as part of the work with clients, but within the practitioner's own interactions and work processes.
By exploring power in resources, structures and processes, identity and relationships, framing, resistance, and formal leadership, practitioners will find new ways of rising to what our profession asks of us.
Learning Objectives
- Stronger ability to identify where and how power shows up in their work
- Clear tools for managing power
- Greater understanding of the connection between power and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
