Conversations Worth Having: The Key to Positive Change
Jackie Stavros and Cheri Torres
This training will be conducted live via Zoom.
All change begins with conversation—with one’s self and others. The nature of those conversations is fateful. The good news is that fate is in our own hands. We co-create our future conversation by conversation, which means we have the collective power to create positive change. What could be more exciting…and challenging. In this highly experiential session, you will learn and apply a technique to prime yourself to be intentional with your conversations, and two simple practices to foster conversations that broaden everyone’s view and move you toward desired outcomes. The two practices—generative questions and positive framing—originate from Appreciative Inquiry, one of the most effective and widely used approach for positive whole systems change. Join us and become a conversation change agent!
In this session you will...
1. Use Tuning In to prime yourself to be intentional with your words and conversations
2. Ask generative questions to widen your view: make the invisible visible, create shared understanding, generate new knowledge, and inspire possibilities.
3. Use positive framing to have conversations that move you towards desired outcomes.
