From FIRO® to The Human Element® A Foundation for Cultural Transformation
A Virtual Presentation - Ethan Schutz will present live via Zoom. FIRO (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation) theory, a theory of interpersonal behavior, was created through original research done in the U.S. Navy and the FIRO-based instruments produced as part of that research have become well known in the field of training and development. But did you know that a great deal of work was done after the original instruments?
In this experiential session, Ethan Schutz, son of FIRO-creator Will Schutz, will detail the history of the theory and instruments over many years which culminated in The Human Element. The "logical extension of FIRO theory" in the words of Will Schutz, The Human Element combines FIRO theory and enhanced, updated FIRO instruments with transformational experiential learning. It is both a structured experiential program and an approach for making cultural transformation in organizations. The Human Element has now been used worldwide to create organizational change and transform cultures for over 35 years.
