Some OD/OE Consultants and Coaches know a great deal—and even have highly-developed skills—but are not as effective as they could be. Why? Because, regardless of the skills and theories you have mastered, they all get translated through who you ARE as you put them into practice. Lao Tzu said it this way in 600 BCE:
Those who know much may be wise, but those who know themselves are even wiser. Those who are master over many may be powerful, but those who are mastering themselves are more powerful still.
In this intensive 90 minute experience, John Scherer, a 40-year OD/OE veteran and one of America’s leading innovators in personal and professional development, will introduce you to one simple but profound principle that will help you master yourself and deepen your practice. You will find:
John Scherer has been a thought leader in OD since 1968, combining his background as a Gestalt therapist with his natural abilities as a group and large scale change facilitator. His clients have included business executives and their organizations from around the world, including GTE, Boeing, Siemens, van Melle, The Government of Canada, and many others, especially in Central/Eastern Europe where he has been based since 2008. He was co-creator in 1973 of the first truly competency-based graduate program in applied behavioral science (LIOS) and is a pioneer in the movement that shares the name of his 1993 book, Work and the Human Spirit. His 2008 book, Five Questions that Change Everything, has been called ’The best business self-help book ever written.' Based now in Warsaw, Poland, he has published numerous articles in the areas of leadership, change and conflict. In 2012 John was named to Steven Covey’s list of America's Top 100 Personal/Leadership Development Thought Leaders, and in 2016 John was the recipient of ODN’s Lifetime Achievement Award. His 2010 presentation to his Alma Mater, Roanoke College, was selected by NPR for their list of ’The Best 100 Commencement Addresses. Ever.’
