The 2016 OD Network Annual Conference, October 7-11, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia, will feature the highest caliber of education for OD practitioners, and it all starts with you!

OD is ever-evolving, and it is with that in mind that the theme for this year’s conference is “The Business of OD: Positioning Ourselves for Continuous Impact.” Collectively, we will address questions such as “What is OD in today’s world?” at the conference and how the business of OD relates to and can incorporate social justice, diversity, community and a global perspective.

Your story and experience of being part of the evolution of OD will be invaluable to the conversation at conference.

Submit a proposal to present at the 2016 conference, and share your experiences and expertise with OD professionals – from consultants and inside OD practitioners to academics and researchers.

The Program Committee is looking for dynamic and engaging facilitators who not only bring their skills and experiences to the conference, but bring learnings to share with participants that are experiential, relatable, and transferable.
Facilitators will host sessions on topics relevant to the three main tracks: OD Fundamentals, Bringing our Profession to the Field: The Business of OD, and the Technology of OD, facilitate conversations and dialogue that deepen understanding of OD principles and practices, and engage participants with emerging perspectives in our field.

We are seeking diverse, innovative proposals from around the world. Learn more about each category on the proposal submissions page. Proposals will be accepted until Tuesday, March 1.

    Dear ISODC Members and Friends:

Please accept this as a personal invitation to the Toronto Conference from May 25-30 at the lovely Nottawasago Inn Resort.

The Planning Committee has designed a dynamic conference program complete with times for fun and networking.  During the first part of the week, you will have the opportunity to expand your skills by participating in a Think Tank engaging the First Nations and Renewable Energy Sector Development Challenges, among others.  This segment is followed by the regular conference sessions hosting motivating facilitators and speakers.  The week concludes with a fascinating session under the guidance of Nexus4 Change.  We hope to match the enthusiasm generated in Amsterdam last summer.

For your convenience, I’ve embedded a link to the ISODC website with complete conference information and instructions for registration:  http://isodc.org/event-1845814.   The good news is that there is still time to get the early bird registration.

I look forward to seeing you there!

    With warm regards,

    Program Overview

Keen Leadership is a holistic approach to developing leader effectiveness both in terms of team engagement and optimizing results. During the workshop participants learn how to leverage key leadership skills such as:

     Influence with or without authority

Using Debriefs - A Simple, Powerful Tool for Boosting Team Effectiveness
     Presented by: Scott Tannenbaum, Ph.D.

    Tuesday, March 24, 2015

    9 AM PDT

    Duration: 90 Minutes

The best teams make "adjustments" and learn from experience. Unfortunately, many teams don't. Team debriefs are a simple yet powerful tool for accelerating such experiential learning and can be used with teams from the boardroom to the front line. They can be conducted as periodic "check-ins" to sustain team effectiveness or to help turn around a struggling team. Research shows that when conducted properly they boost teamwork and performance and are well-received by team members. Debriefs should be part of our OD toolkit and we should be preparing managers and project leaders to conduct them with their own teams. This webinar will highlight the research behind debriefs, clarify common mistakes and ways to overcome them, and describe how best to design and lead debriefs to optimize learning and team self-correction.

    Objectives

Understand the science and psychology that underlie debriefs
Be able to recognize and avoid common pitfalls when designing and conducting debriefs
Be better prepared to conduct debriefs and help others to lead debriefs.

    Scott Tannenbaum Ph.D. - Biography

His research has been cited over 8000 times and he has received 5 research/teaching awards. He has worked with all types of teams from C-suite teams, to teams on oil rigs and medical teams, to teams of astronauts. He was named a Fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Association for Psychological Science and co-edited the book "Developing and Enhancing High-Performance Teams: Evidence-based Practices and Advice."
