Background:

Dede Henley has been in the field of leadership development since 1982. She brings breadth and depth as a consultant, executive coach and CEO. She is dedicated to supporting leaders in calling forth the highest and best from themselves, their leadership teams and their employees. She provides coaching that enables her clients to translate their vision into action, align personal and organizational values, increase employee loyalty and commitment, manage change, support emerging leaders and create organizations that thrive. Her work has been described as “transformational,” and “life-changing.”

Dede has authored numerous articles on coaching and leadership development. She has spoken on the subject at conferences internationally. Dede has served as adjunct faculty member of Pepperdine University in the Masters program for Organization Development.

Dede’s book, The Secret of Sovereignty” earned her the honor of being named one of 100 top thought leaders by Warren Bennis and Leadership Excellence for 2007 and 2008. Dede holds a Masters degree in Organization Development from Pepperdine University.

Bob Elton was CEO of BC Hydro from 2003 until he retired in 2009. During his tenure as CEO, BC Hydro achieved very strong strategic and operational performance, including strong cost control; executing strategies that ensured BC would meet future electricity demand cost effectively and sustainability; a 30% improvement in safety; customer satisfaction levels consistently at 90% satisfied or very satisfied; strong improvement in employee engagement scores; and a resolution of historic issues involving Aboriginal peoples. At the same time, he built a leadership group which has world-leading gender diversity in its industry. Bob’s business career includes 5 years as the CFO of a publically traded mining company, and more than 20 years with a large accounting firm.

Bob is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Sauder Business School at the University of British Columbia, teaching in the area of leadership, and he consults to organizations on this topic among others. His focus is on the implementation of values based leadership in companies, and gender diversity is an important element to achieve that. He is also the chair of Powertech Labs, an R&D company in the Energy field.


Bob’s community involvements include Vice Chair of the Board of Simon Fraser University, Chair of the Immigrant Employment Council of BC, Director and Past Chair of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, Director of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, and Advisor to Young Women in Business in British Columbia.
